Principles and Values, The 912 Project

An anyone that watches Glen Beck knows, He has come up with a list of nine principles and twelve values.  Today (03/13/2008) on his “We Surround Them” episode, Glen unveiled his new website, The 912 Project.  Glen says the site is a place where like-minded folks can come together and reassure each other they, “they are not alone.”  In what seems like a darker and darker world, It’s ever more important to surround our selves with people we trust, love, and can count on.  It’s been said before here and other places; get out there and make connections, start networking.  Surviving turmoil and disaster requires a support network and community, no matter how small.  It can’t be done alone, we have to have people we can rely on and trust.  What have you done to prepare for the worst?

I’ll leave you with a list of Glen Beck’s 9 principles

1. America is good.

2. I believe in God and He is the Center of my Life.

3. I must always try to be a more honest person than I was yesterday.

4. The family is sacred. My spouse and I are the ultimate authority, not the government.

5. If you break the law you pay the penalty. Justice is blind and no one is above it.

6. I have a right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, but there is no guarantee of equal results.

7. I work hard for what I have and I will share it with who I want to. Government cannot force me to be charitable.

8. It is not un-American for me to disagree with authority or to share my personal opinion.

9. The government works for me. I do not answer to them, they answer to me.

and 12 values:

  • Honesty
  • Reverence
  • Hope
  • Thrift
  • Humility
  • Charity
  • Sincerity
  • Moderation
  • Hard Work
  • Courage
  • Personal Responsibility
  • Gratitude

I don’t get to listen to or watch Glen as much as I would like to. Plain and simple, leading a priciple driven life is so important. If you know and understand the principles you base your life on, it is simple to make the most challenging decisions. All you dois look to your principles, which choice most closely leads you to acieving your principles. You then make that choice no matter how difficult it is.

    Thanks for sharing Mike.

By the way, The Christmas Sweater by Beck is a must read. Through the storm we go.

Such a commonsense approach….you will have the sane half of America behind this project, and proudly so.

  • Glenn, God Bless you. Thank you for what you are doing. You are speaking for my husband Jim and myself. We will be praying for you.

  • It was a nice show, about what I was expected, but I was hoping for more.

Basically, Glenn gave us 2 things:

    1. A look at all these people that believe in the same thing you do.

    2. A website where you can express your frustration and find other people like you.

    That’s great, but I don’t think it’s enough.

I would have liked to have seen a course of non-violent action that we can take to try and get our governments back under control. We are already heading down the path of armed revolution and without something constructive to do (and non-violent), that’s where we’re headed. Simply meeting others of like mind and venting our frustrations won’t enough for long.

Don’t get me wrong, this is the place to start; where we can connect and find that we’re not alone in our thinking that the current government is the problem. But, simply talking about it isn’t going to solve anything – we need action.

  • I was telling my wife a week ago, that if things continue the way they are, I wouldn’t be surprised if I didn’t have a gun in my hand participating in a revolt (when forced by having no other choice). I guaranteed it in 10 years.

I don’t want to, I want our country back, I want our politicians to listen, and I want it done peacefully and without bloodshed.
